The game makes no effort to provide actual multiplayer rules, so you are all sitting down to play a game that has no difference to playing it solo. A few bad rolls or choices can send you into a spiral of escalating danger and missed clues that is tough to escape from for a bit. There are reasonable sounding choices that will instantly kill you.
Good Game Pace: Eldritch Horror seems to move at a good pace, with each investigator performing two actions and having an encounter each turn. Compared to Arkham Horror, I do find that this game plays out much faster (though to be fair, what tends to slow down my Arkham games is the expansion content).
